Our Program

Teaching children to remain calm, alert and focused while being challenged is essential to learning in the classroom environment. The goal of Yoga Kidz is to involve each student in a non-competitive activity that improves strength, flexibility and balance — both physical and mental.

The Elements

POSES: Yoga-based activities release physical and emotional energy, developing strength, concentration and self-confidence.

BREATHING: Techniques slow the nervous system, de-stress and develop self-control.

GUIDED RELAXATIONS: Quieting techniques calm minds and bodies and develop imaginations.

The Program

CLASSROOM: Teachers use yoga throughout the day, easing transitions and helping students get settled in the morning, after recess, after lunch and any time energy and focus are waning. Before tests it is useful for quieting the mind and for recalling material.

PHYSICAL EDUCATION PROGRAM: Yoga is used in addition to or in place of regular classes, as it meets physical education standards.
